Changes within society and education are succeeding each other at a fast pace. In order to deal with them, we are in need of certain knowledge, skills and types of behaviour. The expertise group Education for the Future carries out research and provides services that offer an insight into these innovations and their dynamics.

Which new contents and trends should we implement in nursery, primary and secondary school as well as higher education and how should we go about it? How can we build and manage learning environments that facilitate changes and innovations, for students and teachers alike? And finally, how should teachers be prepared and trained in the future?

We can distinguish the following areas of expertise:

  • IT in education:
    digital media as a means to learn, designing serious games and their proper use in education, stimulating learners’ and teacher’s media literacy and wisdom.
  • Showing the way from the future:
    within an organization, formulating a mission and vision that all agree on; stimulating employees’ wellbeing and adaptive skills and leading an organization that is going through a learning process.
  • Teacher education in 2050:
