BIP: International BusIT Week
The A.I. for winning an unfair game
Real life data
Have you seen the movie Moneyball? More than ten years since it was released, Big Data and Data Analytics has exploded. In this project, you'll work with real life data from OHL (a Belgian pro league football club) to dive into sports analytics.
Goal
Your team will develop and pitch an AI solution. Who knows - maybe you'll impact the future of premier league football as we know it.
Programme
From 30 March until 4 April 2025
We welcome participants of the BusIT Week 2025 on Sunday March 30st 2025. We expect them to meet with local students and coaches at the accomodation they're staying for the week. Participants will will be staying close to the train station of Leuven (couple minutes on foot). With the adress, which will communicated as soon as possible, students should be able to find it easily.
Since this BusIT Week will be organised as a BIP, we also add the following online events:
- Tuesday 25 February 2025, 19:00 (Leuven time): online kick-off of the project
- Tuesday 4 and 18 March 2 online modules (only mandatory for BIP participants)
We’ll also try to include attending a football game if the premier league’s schedule allows it.

Practicalities
Profiles that have access to the busIT Week:
If possible, we try to mix the different profiles in each team to make the teams stronger. Most important is that you're interested in data. No specific background required, we'll organise workshops on the topic.
Prerequisite: bring your expertise and share it with the others. They will share their expertise with you.
