Intercultural week @ Proximus
From 5 to 9 December, the Faculty of Management at UCLL ran the third edition of its International Staff Week - which inspired even more international buzz on campus as a whole!
Up to 45 international guest lecturers shared their knowledge, expertise and values with the students in more than 90 guest lectures on various Business and Law topics.
This kicked off a week in which internationalisation as a whole became a focal point in not only UCLL's core values but in various events across campus! Join us for an overview.
BBM Intercultural Event
So you've joined a three-year bachelor in Belgium as an international student... how do you get people talking - or even dancing?
With some native dishes from various countries, catchy African songs and above all fun games! Nothing like a game of Jenga to break down any cultural or social barriers there may be and turn them into opportunities! An introduction to the tradition of 'Sinterklaas' (or at least the part where you get delicious chocolate in your shoe) included.
International staff week
Suddenly having a a new face in front of the classroom ànd your own lecturer taking a seat beside you? Check! The management students encountered the international staff members in their regular classes. Curious about insights that might not be part of your regular curriculum? No problem: any student could sign up for any of 15 open classes.
Sharing knowledge and expertise outside of the classroom also leads to additional resources and expertise! This led us to also welcome non-teaching staff in our midst for a week. For example: you may have noticed a new face in the Campus Proximus Library! Our German colleague Tori shared best practices with our Lead of Learning Centres Thijs.
As is also the case for any international students who visit us: a living campus means more than only information sharing. It's making connections and having some fun as well. Cue a visit to AB Inbev as well as a visit to Cronos Group to make some memories linked to Belgian culture at its finest.
International Master Event
After finishing their degree, all of our students of the advanced bachelor's degree Advanced Business Management have the opportunity to switch to an international Master programme at one of our partner institutions. Among the options are Masters in Spain, Ireland, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia, the UK, the US, Australia and Korea.
No better time for these enthusiastic students to find out more about how they can continue their adventure by crossing borders. Also interested in which opportunities the future holds? This degree offers both English-spoken and Dutch-spoken tracks!
