BIP: International BusIT Week
Game-Changing Analytics Data x Sports 2027
Big data, advanced analytics, and AI have fundamentally transformed the world of sports. From evaluating endurance to optimizing power output, data-driven insights now dictate performance at the highest levels. In this international project, you’ll dive into real-world sports analytics using professional athletic data. You’ll apply modern data science techniques to tackle strategic challenges facing today’s sports organizations.
Goal of the project
Your multidisciplinary, international team will develop and pitch an AI solution to a sports analytics challenge.
Programme
Sunday January 31 to Friday 5 February 2027
Online sessions and self-guided assignments take place during December 2026 and January 2027 so everyone is prepped and ready for the project week.
We welcome participants in person during the afternoon of Sunday, 31 January 2027. Upon arrival, participants will be welcomed by local students and coaches at a central meeting point for a team activity and project kick-off. Most participants are expected to stay within or near the center of Leuven. The exact meeting location and address will be communicated in advance so that everyone can find it easily.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation; however, we are happy to provide suggestions if needed.

Practicalities
Who can join: Open to all motivated profiles, preferable with skills in data and AI.
Prerequisites: Prior programming or analytics experience is a plus.
