Which requirements apply to your programme?
- Bachelor in Business Management - Marketing (Belgium and Europe track) requires (at least) a degree that provides admission into higher education in the country where degree was issued.
- Continuing education programmes require (at least) a recognised bachelor's (undergraduate) degree issued by a nationally recognised higher education institution.
- Please check other Application Requirements below.

I HAVE A DIPLOMA ISSUED OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA
Diploma/degree
- We will accept your diploma/degree/certificate if it grants access to a similar degree programme in higher education in the country where the diploma/degree was issued.
- We use international recognition databases, such as UK NARIC, Nuffic NL, to assess your diploma/degree.
- We expect you to have a score/grading at the 75th percentile or higher (e.g. GCE Advanced Level with a minimum score of "C") or similar academic achievement.
Language requirements*:
- IELTS Academic 6.5 or
- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home 79 (UC Leuven-Limburg TOEFL institution code: 5782) or
- Cambridge Assessment English B2 First (minimum score 176) or
- ITACE B2 (test centres in Belgium only) or
- diploma issued in UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland
Tests should be taken 2 years ago or less.

Diploma/Degree
- We will accept the English-language IB diploma (no further requirements) and the EB diploma (language requirements may apply) for admission into our bachelor degree programmes.
- Other transnational degrees will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
Language requirements:
no further requirements for IB diploma holders.

The 'Certificat d'enseignement secondaire supérieur' (CESS) grants access to all UCLL bachelor programmes.
Language requirements*:

- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home 79 (UC Leuven-Limburg TOEFL institution code: 5782) or
- Cambridge Assessment English B2 First (minimum score 176) or
- ITACE for students B2 (test centres in Belgium only)

I have a diploma issued outside Flanders, Belgium or The Netherlands yet wish to enrol in a Dutch language programme
Diploma/Degree:
UC Leuven-Limburg offers a wide range of associate degree programmes and professional bachelor programmes. All associate degree programmes and the vast majority of the bachelor programmes are taught in Dutch.
Language requirements:
If you hold a non-Flemish diploma and you wish to apply for a Dutch language programme, a minimum Dutch proficiency level of B2 (CEFRL) or equivalent is required at time of application*.
*Tests should be taken 2 years ago or less.

*UCLL does not issue any conditional admission letters in order to start a Dutch language prep year

A fair recognition and admission process

UC Leuven-Limburg guarantees a fair screening of your application.
Screening process
- Our guidelines for the recognition of your credentials is governed by the Lisbon Recognition Convention if the country where the degree/diploma/certificate was issued, has ratified the Convention.
- Students must hold a diploma/degree/certificate that provides access to a level of higher education in the country where it was issued, similar to the level applied for at UCLL.
In addition, we mainly use UK NARIC and NUFFIC databases to screen candidates' applications.
Appeal
Should you wish to appeal the result of your admission procedure or of your request for the recognition of prior learning:
- send your complaint and completed application file to the Committee for Appeals at interne.beroepscommissie [at] ucll.be
- mention 'Appeal procedure + your name' in the subject line
The Committee meets on a regular basis.
