Masson trichrom staining method comparison and evaluation

This poster covers the subject of the masson trichrome staining and all the varieties of its protocol. It compares these methods to the current protocol that is used in the pathology department of Næstved to see which one is the best for this staining. The eight used protocols will be compared with each other based on four pointers: contrast of the staining, clarity, impact on the environment including the safety of the staff and difficulty of the protocol. After comparing all the results it is clear that the current method is the best one to stain the tissue, based on the outcome of this experiment. The colours are clear and the different tissues have obvious difference in colour. It can be concluded that the current method is good but when something fails there are multiple back-up methods that can be used to still be able to execute this staining. In the future more protocols can be formed to have a wider variety of results. To be able to better see the influence of one step on the whole stain end result.
