The potential of LC-MS in metabolomics of serum and plasma samples
Metabolomics is a powerful tool, which can be used in different biological and clinical fields. This report investigates the potential of LC-MS to analyze metabolites in blood samples. LC-MS analysis and the used settings in this report, prove their use in both targeted and untargeted metabolomics as it is able to detect different chemical groups in a concentration range with a factor 1 000 in the targeted analysis, and it is able to detect a lot of metabolites, 1 106, during the untargeted analysis.
